Hopeless or Genius?

The gambling world has seen many types of players. There are the aggressive gambling players, the passive ones, and many others. Due to the fast money gambling has to offer, gambling world has become an attractive place for cheaters, and among the top cheaters is Richard Marcus.

Richard Marcus was definitely not from a wealthy family. That is why he resorted to gambling - to make big money fast. At first, he tried to do some honest gambling. He was contented in winning money decently. However, he experienced a turn of tides.

What changed this honorable gambling player was the time he lost everything he had and became a homeless gambler. One day, Richard found himself leaving with homeless bums under a bridge- not a very good sight for a former successful gambling player. This is why he felt had to do something to change the course of his life, or else, he would end up die hungry and poor as a mouse.

When he realized he wanted to put an end to his misery, he got a job at a gambling house as a dealer. Becoming a dealer was vital to his future career as a cheater. His job as a dealer gave him bright ideas on how to cheat a gambling house.

After accumulating enough money to gamble again, he went on gambling houses and on each gambling session, he went home with his pockets full of money. How did he do this? His method was simple but brilliant.

When he bets, he places three red chips above a brown chip, but not completely covering it. Those red chips are placed in such a way that the brown chip is strategically kept away from the dealers view. You should know that red chips usually cost five dollars while the brown ones are five hundred dollars each. That was the easy part of this cheating method. The trickier part is when the dealer announces which bet has won.

If Marcus wins, he would show the extra brown chip to the dealer. On the other hand, if he loses, he replaces the stack of chips with another one while the dealer is not looking. If the switch is successful, the dealer will just get three red chips instead of the original stack. The dealer will feel satisfied because he does not know that Marcus originally had wagered a much bigger amount.

This trick is called the Savannah - named after a lap dancer who was performing while Marcus got his idea.
