How Women Should Play

Over the past years, the poker world has been welcoming women into its arms. Some poker tournaments have events that are for women only while others are open to any gender.

Female poker players are known to be passive players. Unlike the male poker players, who makes a lot of action at the table. It is a belief that women's poker style is to play only if they have good hands, and they usually do not raise.

The women's supposed poker style sure makes them safe because they do not lose many chips at once. However, they will not also win a lot of chips at once because they do not raise, so this play is really a double-edged sword.

So, when women play against men in poker, they should learn to be more aggressive, because male poker players will sure try to intimidate the women by raising a lot and too often. They know that passive women will just fold, so they raise even if their cards suck big time.

What a woman needs to do is to take advantage of her image to men as a poker player. Men think that women are too scared to bluff or to call a raise, so women should actually bluff or raise. Why? Think about this: if the female poker player is going to play poker aggressively and raise her bet even if she has a weak hand, the men will still think that she indeed is holding a very good hand. This is because they believe that women are not capable of actions such as bluffing because of the risk involved.

A woman can also play passively when the time comes that she has a good hand. Why? Because as said earlier, men think that a woman is naturally passive, so they would raise the bet. When this happens, the female poker player should just call the raise. In the end, the woman will win with a huge amount of chips because of the raise the male poker players make.

These are perfect examples of how to turn a bad thing into good. Women should know how to make their image help their play.

However, it should not be advised to always think that all men perceive women as passive. Some poker players play against others, without thinking of the opponents' gender. There are also men today who have realized that women can be really deceiving, so women should be careful in bluffing their male poker opponents.
